ONEWORLDIMAGES.COM Expressions ~ IntroductionShow First Slide >>

This show features entries contained in a document I maintain creatively entitled "Favorite Expressions." Whenever I come across a quotation or passage that strikes me as somehow interesting or wise, I record the words in this document. For the purposes of this show, I have only pulled quotes relevant to world politics, culture, travel, or human interaction. My sources are eclectic. Inclusion here does not imply general endorsement of a source's political views. Incidentally, it happens that Aung San Suu Kyi has - at present - been quoted more than any other source.

Included in this show are photographs from nineteen countries. A large number of these images (the majority of those taken outside of Asia) were mere "tourist snapshots," taken long before I envisioned pursuing photography as a hobby. Such images were scanned from prints or negatives. Despite their poorer quality, they represent a wider variety of locations than I would otherwise be able to depict. I have been traveling for some time but only recently became serious about doing so with photography in mind. I look forward to revisiting a few of the places I've already been - and will likely continue adding images and quotes to this show indefinitely. At present, the show includes 50 slides and was last updated in July 2005.

Without question, the expressions here are more important than any of the individual photos. Each has been included for a reason. I encourage you to think about the words, the ideas - and ponder their impact on you. How do you travel? Vote? Think of and interact with people of other cultures and ethnicities? Where do you look for beauty? How do you see the world?
