Standing in front of the Seattle Art Museum, the Hammering Man has been consistently pounding away - 4 strokes per minute - since 1992 (though he rests at night and on Labor Day every year). While he's a relative newcomer to the city, Hammering Man has quickly become one of the most recognizable symbols of Seattle.
